Been quiet

I've been a bit quiet for the past week. I've been trying to get some more Christmas cards made. I still have around a dozen more to do. I really need to get a shift on!

Here are a few cards that I have made.

The first is using an old sketch from Papertake Weekly and one of my fave cards I have made in the last few days. I have once again used those delish papers from K&Co. The scallop border is using the ever-so-fab SU punch and the scalloped oval and circles are the very useful nestabilities. I really want to get my hand on the rest that I need and of course the very new labels which are gorgeous! I have also entered this card into the Cute Card Thursday challenge which was to use punches.

Supplies:
Stamp: Magnolia
Sentiment: Papermania
Paper: K&Co - Peppermint Twist
Other: Punched snowflakes, flowers and brads

The second card is a twist on an old sketch from Friday Sketchers. I have a notepad that I joy sketches down for future reference and it is becoming very useful when trying to overcome lost mojo. Again I have used those papers! My trusty cuttlebug was used to emboss the snowflakes on the white oval which was cut using nesties as well as the scalloped oval. I have also glittered the snow on the bench.

Supplies:
Stamp: Magnolia
Sentiment: Studio G
Paper: K&Co - Peppermint Twist
Other: Punched snowflakes, flowers and brads

The last card was using my own sketch. Not only do I use the notepad for sketches from challenge blogs etc but if something pops into my head that I could use it goes in there to for the future! This is a card I gave to my friend Lyndsey. I had to make her one especially because she had seen all the others! This card I also entered into the This Thursday challenge which was to make a naughty or nice card. I thought this would be a nice card - the candy cane and gifts. The candy cane is nice to eat and the gifts nice to give and receive!

Supplies:
Stamp: Magnolia
Paper: DCVW - Christmas Wishes
Other: Punched snowflakes, flowers and brads

All the images were coloured using Derwent watercolour pencils. I splashed out last week on some promarkers. Unfortunately I just cannot get used to using them. I don't seem to be able to get the shading right. I'm going to persevere at the moment and keep practising with them. I might invest on a few more colours, light and dark to see if that makes a difference. If not I might sell what I have and put the money towards some prismas!
