A sad day

I woke up this morning, like many others, to the sad news that the King of Pop, Michael Jackson had died. I couldn't quite believe it, I thought I was dreaming. I was shocked and saddened.

I have fond memories of listening to his music as a child along with my nextdoor neighbour.

The music world has lost an icon, a legend, a superstar.

He may be gone but his music will live on forever.

RIP Michael

One more

I made this card a while ago for one the challenge blogs. I can't remember which one exactly but I think it may have been Friday Sketchers. I love the end result. The image was coloured in using my watercolour pencils. It looks fab in real life.

Just because

The elements for this card had been on my desk for ages so I thought it was about time that I put a card together. I love the colour combo black, white and pink. I wanted to use more pink but couldn't find the right papers. I used prismas to colour her in.

Supplies:
Image - Miss Anya by The Greeting Farm
Sentiment - Penny Black
Paper - Papermania
Tools - Fiskars punch, Nesties and Cuttlebug
Other - Flowers, brads and pearls from stash

Sketch Saturday #56

My entry for Sketch Saturday. I love this card. I don't usually use a lot of yellow. But this looks great. Again used promarkers to colour in. I also used my new fave papers from K&Co. I got this stamp a few days ago. It's so easy to colour in. I think I may have to invest in a few more even though I should now be saving to pay for my holiday!

Supplies:
Image - Anya by The Greeting Farm
Sentiment - Stampin' Up
Paper - K&Co - Wild Raspberry
Tools - Punches by Stampin' Up, Nesties and Cuttlebug
Other - Flowers, brads and pearls from stash
Medium - Promarkers

Friday Sketchers #57

My entry for Friday Sketchers. A very lovely simple sketch. I like simple! Again image coloured using promarkers as I have a little stock pile now from when I have been practising. No mishaps and they all look pretty well coloured in so I might as well use them up! I love this little Tilda stamp.

Supplies:
Image - Magnolia
Sentiment - Stampin' Up
Paper - Bo Bunny
Tools - Punches from Stampin' Up
Other - Flowers, pearls and brads from stash

Here is the card I made my dad for Father's Day. It was done very quickly, sorry dad. I actually like it. Simple. I did decorate (very simply) the inside but didn't take a photo sorry. Image coloured using promarkers again. I think I need a few more colours to add to my collection such as the greys.

Supplies:
Image - Magnolia
Sentiment - Papermania
Paper - My Mind's Eye
Tools - Nesties and Cuttlebug
Other - Buttons and ribbon from stash

A Spoon Full of Sugar #56

Here is my entry of A Spoon Full of Sugar. A fantastic sketch by Michelle. I flipped it around, just because I felt like being different. I've actually been quite productive today making a total of four cards, this one included. I haven't made any cards for so long so this weekend has been really enjoyable, getting back into the swing of it. You'll be seeing the rest over the next few days.

I coloured Miss Anya in using promarkers. I bought a whole bunch more last week and have been practising with them. I actually quite like them now. They still bleed slightly. Practise makes perfect!

Supplies:
Image - Miss Anya by The Greeting Farm
Sentiment - Penny Black
Paper - K&Co - Wild Raspberry
Tools - Nesties and Cuttlebug
Other Stash - Pearls, netting, flowers and brad all from stash

Also something quite exciting, yesterday I booked (well my friend booked) a holiday for us both. So on the 6th September 2010 I'm off to Orlando for two weeks of disney fun. I am so excited and have been wanting to go back since we went last year. We are also stopping at a disney hotel which is even more exciting! I just wish it was closer and not over a year away. At least I have something to look forward to! I just have to save up to pay for it now. I need a little counter somewhere on here to count down those days.
