My Time to Craft #76

I have to admit I have still not got back into card making.  I'm finding it really difficult for some reason.  It's annoying as I really want to make some cards however when I sit down to do it, I just can't seem to make anything! Also I seem to be spending more and more time making jewellery and have a couple of orders to make.  I find it easier to get my beads out in the evening rather than lug everything out of my cupboard! I really must take some photos and show off what I have made so far.

This weeks challenge over at My Time to Craft is "elegant rose".  However after rummaging through my stash I didn't really have anything suitable however I did have the Pocket Silhouette stamp set which has a stamp that I think looks like a stem of roses.  I wouldn't call the card elegant however it is simple and I think black and white looks elegant!

Supplies: All SU apart from the button
Cardstock: Kraft, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Basic Black
Ribbon: 1 1/4" Grosgrain Striped Ribbon in Basic Black

MIA

Okay so I have been MIA since the beginning of the year.  I've not really made any cards or anything.  For some reason I just haven't felt like it!  I have been playing with my beads again. I really must take some pictures of my creations.  For some reason I seem to have a liking for bracelets however I don't wear them!  Maybe I need to start.

So the UK has been covered with a blanket (a deep blanket in some parts!) of snow.  We didn't have much until the end of this week, in fact I think we had more last night than all week.  Today I went out and about with my dad taking some photos with my new camera.   Click on them to make them bigger - they look better!

Did someone say it was snowing??

You looking at me??

Footbridge over the River Welland

River on the left and road on the right.  Dad said he has never seen the river frozen as bad as it is.

My favourite photo.  This was where my dad spent many years as he lived to the right of this tree with my grandparents.  The houses are long gone but the tree still lives on.  Wanted to get a bit closer but it was SO cold!

On the way home we took a detour and ended up here.

My Time to Craft #73

This week's challenge over at My Time to Craft is "brown and blue".  So, here's my card.  I used SU stash again with those Trendy Trees, sorry but I do like them!!

I saw a card on a blog (sorry I can't remember which) and I more or less case'd this card that I saw.  It was lovely however I turned it around a little and added some images on the paper.  Such a simple layout but I like simple some times!

Supplies: All SU.  Trendy Trees, Chocolate Chip ribbon, Bashful Blue DSP, A Bit of Birthday Cheer, Bashful Blue and Chocolate Chip ink, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip cardstock.

Christmas

It's all over for another year.  I hope you all had a wonderful time and Santa bought everything you wished for.  He definitely bought what I wished for, a D-SLR camera, a Nikon D5000 to be exact.  I love it!  Now I just need to learn how to use it!  I took quite a few photos on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, here's just a couple that I've been playing about with.

Here's our Christmas tree.  It's the best out of the bunch of a few!

A close up of one of the baubles.  The tree looks white in this picture but it's actually cream.  I need to play with the settings to see if I can make it look warmer.

A picture of a place setting at the table.  Yes I made the crackers and the little gift bags.  I'm sure I took some photos of those close up, I need to find them.

Well I hope you had a fabulous time and here's to the New Year!

My Time to Craft #71

This week over at My Time to Craft we challenge you to make a Z card.  Now there's so many different ways you can do this and the team have come up with some fab ideas.   Please take a look at them all!  Here's mine:

I used a basic Z fold card, again I used my SU stash and my fave stamps of the moment, Trendy Trees.  I really made a simple card and didn't go over the top with embellishments, in fact I didn't use any.  This card took just minutes to whip up.  Great for bulk thank you cards for Christmas!

Supplies: All SU.  Trendy Trees, Certainly Celery DSP, Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip card and Certainly Celery and Close to Cocoa ink.

Sunday Sketch & Stamp #18

This is my last card for my stint on the DT over at Sunday Sketch & Stamp.  Unfortunately I've been laid up with sciatica for the past couple of weeks and card making was pushed to the back burner as I was in too much pain to really sit, hunched over a desk and concentrate.  This was a last minute dash to get made, so much so I forgot all about it and didn't have time to get it posted on the SS&S blog.  Anyway on to the card, it was a sketch by Barb which was fab. I altered it to fit a C6 card and used some of my SU goodies.

I have really enjoyed being on this DT for the past couple of months and I want to thank the whole team for inviting me, making me welcome and supplying such fab sketches!

Supplies: All SU, Trendy Trees, Old Olive, Rose Red and Bashful Blue, Stampin Up Eyelet Border Punch

All products are Stampin' Up!

Moving Along with the Times #23

Another challenge blog I stumbled across was this one, Moving Along with the Times.  There was a fab sketch together with a theme of animals.  It just so happened that I had stamped and coloured this fabulous image that's a stamp by Gillian Roberts at Stampavie.  It is so adorable.  I just had to join in with their challenge.

1 Card, 5 Challenges

So today I sat down to do some stamping.  On a Saturday I always look through the challenges and see what's around.  There are just so many challenge blogs out there I see what can be combined.  So this card is for fivechallenges, I could have entered into at least eight!  But I thought I would save that for a few more cards.  So, the five challenges are:-

1.  Sketch & Stash Challenge - Sketch
2.  Papertake Weekly - Christmas Crackers
3.  Whiff of Joy - Christmas
4.  Cute Card Thursday - Boys card
5.  A Spoon Full of Sugar - Brown plus blue or pink

I used a stamp from the Whiff of Joy winter kit that I hadn't inked up together with those lovely MME papers again.
