Been quiet

I've been a bit quiet for the past week. I've been trying to get some more Christmas cards made. I still have around a dozen more to do. I really need to get a shift on!

Here are a few cards that I have made.

The first is using an old sketch from Papertake Weekly and one of my fave cards I have made in the last few days. I have once again used those delish papers from K&Co. The scallop border is using the ever-so-fab SU punch and the scalloped oval and circles are the very useful nestabilities. I really want to get my hand on the rest that I need and of course the very new labels which are gorgeous! I have also entered this card into the Cute Card Thursday challenge which was to use punches.

Supplies:
Stamp: Magnolia
Sentiment: Papermania
Paper: K&Co - Peppermint Twist
Other: Punched snowflakes, flowers and brads

The second card is a twist on an old sketch from Friday Sketchers. I have a notepad that I joy sketches down for future reference and it is becoming very useful when trying to overcome lost mojo. Again I have used those papers! My trusty cuttlebug was used to emboss the snowflakes on the white oval which was cut using nesties as well as the scalloped oval. I have also glittered the snow on the bench.

Supplies:
Stamp: Magnolia
Sentiment: Studio G
Paper: K&Co - Peppermint Twist
Other: Punched snowflakes, flowers and brads

The last card was using my own sketch. Not only do I use the notepad for sketches from challenge blogs etc but if something pops into my head that I could use it goes in there to for the future! This is a card I gave to my friend Lyndsey. I had to make her one especially because she had seen all the others! This card I also entered into the This Thursday challenge which was to make a naughty or nice card. I thought this would be a nice card - the candy cane and gifts. The candy cane is nice to eat and the gifts nice to give and receive!

Supplies:
Stamp: Magnolia
Paper: DCVW - Christmas Wishes
Other: Punched snowflakes, flowers and brads

All the images were coloured using Derwent watercolour pencils. I splashed out last week on some promarkers. Unfortunately I just cannot get used to using them. I don't seem to be able to get the shading right. I'm going to persevere at the moment and keep practising with them. I might invest on a few more colours, light and dark to see if that makes a difference. If not I might sell what I have and put the money towards some prismas!

Here's the card I made for the sketch over at Sketch Saturday. I really enjoy using sketches, it kick starts the creativity. Had to use my fave papers again!

Supplies:
Stamps - Magnolia

3 Cards - 3 Challenges

Here are three more cards I made at the weekend.
The first made for Friday Sketchers. It's a sketch for a DL card. I haven't made one of those in ages but really enjoyed it and I love the finished result!

The second one is for Sketch Saturday. I wasn't sure about the sketch at first but once I started to put the card together I really like it.

The third and final one for today is for Magnolia vs Stampavie. The challenge was to use texture on your card. I used an embosed panel and some very lovely velvet brads.

Supplies for all three cards:
Stamps: Magnolia
Papers: K&Co - Peppermint Twist
Other: Punched snowflakes, flowers and brads

Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 26 and Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 37

I woke up this morning to a dusting of snow. It felt so christmassy! That put me in the mood of a card making session. So this afternoon I made five (!!) cards. Sometimes it takes me a day just to do one!

Here is one that I made for the blooming marvellous challenge over at A Spoon Full of Sugar. I absolutely love these papers that I bought a week or so ago. Most of the images I've coloured this week I've used colours to match these papers just so I can use them again and again!

Supplies:
Stamps: Magnolia
Papers: K&Co - Peppermint Twist
Other: Punched snowflakes, brads and flowers
Here is one that I made for the snowflake challenge over at Cute Card Thursday. I think I've managed this challenge quite easily - lots of snowflakes on the papers and a few die cut/punched snowflakes! I love the new snowflake die and embossing folder that my mum bought a couple of days ago and was just dying to use it!

Supplies:
Stamps: Magnolia
Papers: Dovecraft -Winter Wonderland
Other: Punched and die cut snowflakes and brads
It's back to work for me tomorrow which is a shame because after the session I've had today I still have a few ideas swimming around but probably won't get a chance to do anything until next weekend and by then I'll have forgotten!

Ok

Since being back from my holiday I've not been blogging. To be honest I've not done much crafting in the way of cards or scrapbooking. Over the past couple of weeks I've done a lot more. I need to take some pictures of some of the bits I have made. I also have become a SU! fan and I have been busy making Christmas cards with a couple of their stamp sets which I love!

Have been blog surfing and have come across some fab blog candy. I never enter for any of these so I thought I would give this a go!

Bev has some great Whiff of Joy blog candy to give away. Please take a look at Bev's FAB cards.

Julie has a fabulous set of SU! hostess stamps to give away as blog candy. Congratulations to Julie for her SU! promotion.

Long time....

no post! I had a couple of days off last week and so I had a break from the net too. We went off to Hunstanton last Thursday for the day - it was so hot!! It was a lovely relaxing day. We then went up to Lincoln for a spot of shopping where I spent far too much money! Then on Saturday I ventured down to London to see Kylie at the O2 Arena. Boy she puts on a good show! She had me dancing all the way through from start to finish! Yesterday I literally could not be bothered to do a thing!

Back to work now. It's lunchtime at the moment so I thought I'd sneak a few minutes blogging and also do a bit of blog hopping. I nipped out to grab some lunch but soon ran back to the office as it was too hot out there for me - thank god my office is air conditioned!

Haven't made a card for days! So nothing to show you although I am trying to get photobucket to load! I was going to post a few older cards I've not yet shown but it doesn't seem to want to play :( Ah well hopefully I might post again later!

Stamping

Here are a few more cards for you all to see:

The first was actually made to give to somebody!! It was my friend's birthday last week and this is what I sent her. I used Farmer Tilda which has to be one of my fave stamps.

Supplies: Magnolia Stamp, Crate Paper, Pink Petticoat Sentiment, Making Memories Clip and Flowers

The second card is using an Elisabeth Bell stamp from Sugar Nellie. I wasn't sure about these stamps when they first came out, then I saw more and more cards with them and then they bought out some new designs. I took the plunge and ordered a couple. I have now fallen in love! I'm so excited to see Elisabeth designing a new range of stamps for Katharina's new stamp company, Whiff of Joy. I can't wait to see the new stamps.

Supplies: Sugar Nellie Stamp, My Minds Eye Paper and flowers

The third was made for my dad to give to my mum for their Wedding Anniversay yesterday. It started as a sketch for the Friday Sketcher's Challenge but it wasn't working for me so I changed it slightly. Again I used one of the Sarah Kay stamps. I'm actually not too keen on it but my mum seemed to like it so that's the main thing!

Supplies: Sarah Kay Stamp, Basic Grey Paper, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Ribbon and Flowers
